On Sunday June 15th, 2014, we celebrated Father’s Day by camping at the beach. Here is the irony, he hates camping… and the beach. To make it up, we went with some of our family friends and planned a relaxing weekend, which included the France vs. Honduras FIFA game and biking.
We camped the weekend at the Cape Henlopen State Park. We started the morning with a nice egg breakfast that was cooked over a campfire. After unpacking , the families split paths. Our family stayed near camp to relax, while our friends went to the beach to take in some sun. When game time approached, we went to The Green Turtle to watch France beat Honduras. In the mean time, the moms scouted the bike paths. When we all met up again, the moms showed us a new bike path to Gordon’s Point. We biked our way there in order to see the sunset over the marshes. After biking back, we hopped into the car and headed home.
Now that was a Fathers Day well spent.
